The PNSN is one of several Regional Seismic Networks that operate within a confederation of such networks, the Advanced National Seismic System (ANSS). The ANSS is managed and funded by the US Geological Survey. ANSS provides coordination between the regional networks and provides both financial support and procedural guidelines and standards.
